The 1st Workshop on Socially Assistive Robots for Active Ageing (SARA) will take place at School of Telecommunication Engineering, Malaga, Spain (7-8 November 2019). The workshop is a multidisciplinary, dynamic event focused on co-creative design processes involving Ambient Assisted Living environments and Socially Assistive Robots. It will provide a space for engineers, technology providers, anthropologists, sociologists, and healthcare professionals coming from different EU institutions to present their current research and developments. It will also discuss next steps towards the use of accepted, useful and accessible technologies, including robotics, in shared public spaces such as retirement houses. The workshop will also act as an open kick-off event for two recently accepted regional projects devoted to these topics.
